What does bartering mean?

Our barter system is essentially a volunteer program with lots of perks. In exchange for volunteering your time and skills toward making the program run smoothly, you are able to take a proportional number of classes for free. It all makes perfect sense: this is your program, you are making it happen, and you are benefiting from it. We are working towards new models for a sustainable society, and this is an example of such a system: grassroots designer education. It’s a win win situation: we do not think that financial constraints should prevent people from learning, and without barter interns and students, the program itself could not run. You will be making a significant contribution to widening the circle towards an open-service learning system for all and generating greater sustainability knowledge throughout the wider community.
