COURSE SUMMARY

Welcome to Biodiesel Introduction, a six-day multi-presenter intensive, with Facilitator / Instructor, Adam Gagnon. This introduction to vegetable oil methyl esters (biodiesel), including history, feedstocks, production methods, safe handling, materials compatibility, co-product management and emissions reductions.

 

Mr. Gagnon is President of Crude Country Biofuels, a Calgary-based consultancy and technology provider in the realm of biodiesel and pure plant oil fuels and technologies for diesel engines. Since 2003 Adam Gagnon has been the Manager of Applied Sustainability at the Macleod Institute in Calgary, a non-partisan consultancy affiliated with the University of Calgary. On sabbatical, he toured to Oaxaca State, Mexico in 2004 using PPO fuels, and has spoken twice at international renewable energy conferences in Latin America. His focus is in biofuels and renewable energy (policy, technical issues, innovation and markets), and has experience in Aboriginal relations, transportation planning and government program evaluations working with Senator and former Alberta cabinet minister Elaine Mc Coy, QC.
