Can one graduate with a degree of some kind through the EMP?

This is not an accredited program. We hope to encourage an "each one teach one" model towards sustainability, in which students will pursue other training and go on to offer their own workshops and share knowledge, openly and freely with the public. Instead of a diploma, students will be given a congratulatory reference letter, outlining their courses of study and the avenues in which they have shown a passion or a particular interest. Like ripples in a pond, we hope our student and teacher efforts can begin to permeate our society and the world, bringing inspiration to new generations of committed lifetime sustainability learners. Earth Masters offers a way to explore ideas before taking the next steps in higher education and an opportunity to compare notes with others on a dream project for the backyard or rural outpost.

What kind of school is Earth Masters?

We are currently not an accredited program or a school. The EM Program is a scheduling system for sharing sustainability knowledge and fostering creative, hands-on learning environments. It is a grassroots learning system created and supported by a co-operative web of not-for-profit, social enterprise, student and teaching partners. This is a community and not an organization. EM is a how-to, hands-on fear-removal opportunity designed to enable anyone, at any level, to WALK and speak the language used to build and live with more appropriately sustainable practices.

A separate EM-related Education Options Mapping Project exists (It's listserv is called Earth Innovators), in addition to this community, to ensure that EM workshop scheduling meets your needs and helps to springboard you where you want to go; whether it is on to more advanced training (both accredited and non), workshop teaching, community projects, home action for yourself and family, or for your career path. The Mapping Project acts as an informal education options research liaison between you and your next steps. Click here for more information about the: Mapping Project
