Great opportunities!
We've made a lease-to-own arrangement to use one of the Intern's new VW biodiesel truck on weekends. He's just in the process of buying that from a mechanic friend who's owned it for years, so it should be in good working order and has double shocks, so along with great gas mileage, it will haul about 500 kilos, he figures. He's carried 600 kilos in it, but says that's a bit too much. We'll be able to move lots of stone and compost, soil, gravel and sand, etc., more easily when building comes. Wish we had all that on-site.
Eric knows where some rock is - very close. There's a local soil, sand and gravel place. I think we can get away with less gravel than it looked like we would need this year, because we've scouted a new possible site for the first little hobbit-house and it's up above where we park. Seems like the ground is all gravel in that spot, so we'll see how it drains, when the ground thaws. It will be great if we can just build straight up from the ground for this year and don't have to double trench two feet deep around the cabins or raise the floor (i.e. costing less of that cash stuff)... and we won't need so much gravel until the second cabin, and then we WILL need lots, but will have time to put some funds together, from somewhere or other.
What a blessing,
Wezley
